It’s illuminating to know that the womb [subconscious] does connect you so that in moments you are undivided after birth in childhood. It is a troubling salvation to know that I had been grasping the subconscious at 8 years or younger–always labouring for its awakening. It’s frightening when I consider this: you find out from your mother that you wrote a poem in grade 3 and she recalls it when I had no idea. Not of roses are red. Something unique. I had completely forgot the poetry for 20 years. Although the pieces are there, at 18 at 20, unconscious from 8-28. Then the return. That’s 20 years of buried song now risen to light.
