Pilgrim

If there is no God,
Not everything is permitted to man.
He is still his brother’s keeper
And he is not permitted to sadden his brother,
By saying that there is no God.

~ Czeslaw Milosz

A pilgrim is sleeping
waiting for the wake-up call
the dial tone expired
his neurons shorted out
captivated by his own coma
he is defunct, dipped in copper
he is incapable of a charge.
